Brown Agency is a full-service agency that deals with detecting, promoting talent, and representing actors and models in areas of various specializations such as television, fashion, industrial videos, film, runaways, trade shows, conventions, and cooperate events. Depending on the talent exhibited by the model, the agency places the model in a category that best suits him or her.
The journey leading to the formation of Brown Agency began in the year 2008 in Austin Texas. Justin Brown, the founder of the Brown Agency, started his career in the fashion industry when he founded the JB Models and Talent Group. Two years later, the modeling agency was licensed by the Wilhelmina National Agency forming the Wilhelmina Brown Modeling Agency.
In the year 2015, Wilhelmina Austin acquired the Heyman Talent-South agency in a move that gave birth to Brown Agency. Before the merge, Justin Brown was the former head of Wilhelmina Austin while Michael B. Bonnee was the brain behind Heyman Talent-South agency. Under the new merger, Justin Brown became the CEO of Brown Agency while Michael B. Bonnee took the role as an expert in theoretical division. The merger simply solidified the Brown Agency as the primary modeling agency in Austin and one of the leading in Texas. Though the merger was an instant hit in the market, the exact details of the deal remain scanty two years after the merger.
The Brown Agency derives its name from its founder Justin Brown. Though Justin studied Business Management in college, his desire to know what was happening behind the flashing camera lights encouraged him to pursue a career that entailed entertainment and fashion. Since its launch in the year 2015, the Brown Agency has revolutionized the modeling and fashion industry and set the bar high for other modeling agencies. With over 450 different talents working under the watchful eyes of experienced trainers, Brown Agency is no doubt a force to reckon with in the fashion industry.
In only a span of two years, Brown Agency has worked with some of the best fashion brands in the world. As a matter of fact, the agency models have worked with some of the globally-acclaimed brands such as Toyota, Louis Vuitton, L’Oréal, and Dell just to name a few. Apart from this, Brown Agency models have been gracing various fashion shows in the USA. Some of these shows include the Dallas Fashion Week, Austin Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, and the Miami Swim Week.
The Brown Agency cut is 15% for non-union commercial, television, films, or video gigs. An estimated 20% goes to the modeling jobs while 10% remains for the union jobs. Most of the models are hired in Houston and Dallas. However, if more qualified models are present in other states, the company has no problem accommodating them in their plans.
